Your information
Privacy policy
OutpostOS is operated by Advent Ventures. This notice explains how we handle information in the personal mobile app and at outpostos.org, and how to contact us about your data.
Effective 1 October 2026
Information we handle
- Account and profile: name, email, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and other contact details such as city or website; country, time zone, optional gender, birthdate and profile photo; sign-in and security information.
- Visits and stays: centers you browse or contact, inquiries and stay requests, reservation and accommodation details, travel and arrival information, messages, feedback, and requests you send to a center. You may choose to provide dietary, accessibility, health, or other sensitive details in a request; provide only what the center needs.
- App and device: technical connection and security records, app/device information needed to run the service, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications. The app keeps some data locally so you can revisit recent information.
- Beta testing: if you email us to request a TestFlight invitation or ask about Google Play testing, we receive your email address and any platform or device details you choose to include.
- Website: basic request logs and essential sign-in/security cookies when you use account features. The public product site loads a Google-hosted font, so your browser may connect to Google for that asset.
How we use it
We use information to create and secure accounts, show your personal experience, send requests to the center you choose, manage stay-related actions, deliver messages and optional notifications, coordinate beta-testing access, respond to support and privacy requests, and protect and maintain the service. We do not use the mobile app for third-party advertising.
Who can see it
Authorized people at a center can see information needed to respond to your inquiry or manage your stay. While you are at a center, other people staying there may see your presence and relevant arrival or departure information in its community view. Visibility outside an active stay follows the applicable app settings and center rules. We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, and optional push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users. A center may have its own privacy notice for its operations.
Your choices
You can update profile information, choose whether to receive device notifications, and use available community visibility controls in the app. Account settings also provide data export and account deletion. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us if you cannot use the app.
Retention & deletion
We keep account information while it is needed to provide your account and the services you use. Stay and communication records are kept while needed for the center's operations, support, security, or applicable recordkeeping duties. When those purposes end, data is deleted or de-identified, unless a legal or active operational obligation requires retention. The exact period depends on the record and the center involved; contact us to ask about a specific record.
To request deletion, use Account → Delete account in the app or follow the instructions on our support page. We may verify account ownership and will explain any records that cannot immediately be deleted. Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your account.
Security
We use authenticated access, role-based permissions, encrypted connections, and device-protected storage for the app's sign-in token. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please report a suspected account or privacy issue to us promptly.
Changes to this notice
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
